After spending millions in contributions to super PACs and the Clinton campaign, George Soros and his foundation Democracy Alliance hosted a meeting, intended to combat Donald Trump and his plans for the country. The conference was held at Washington D.C.’s pricey Mandarin Oriental hotel. The meeting was attended by several influential union leaders ad Democrats including Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren and Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairman Keith Ellison.
This meeting was the first gathering of liberal movers and shakers since Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton last November. George Soros held sessions focusing on halting President-elect Trump’s 100-day plan, which they believe is an assault on President Obama’s achievements and legacy. The meeting have been called into question as Democrats are questioning their approach to politics and the role of Soros’ organization the Democracy Alliance on theatlantic.com.
Attendees also discussed changing polling and rethinking their way on how to win the working-class voters on Biography. Democratic leadership believes they need to spend more time training officials. George Soros’ DA group has contributed more than $500 million to a handful of groups including those supporting the left including Media Matters. Prior to the 2016 election, George Soros spent some time away from fundraising, following the aftermath of the 2004 election. Soros has been a strong opponent of Donald Trump sharing his disgust for the comments and policies Donald Trump has made during the election cycle. George Soros has said he will continue to be politically involved until he sees the issues that matter to him and the Democratic party are finally taken care of and properly replaced with policies that support those affected.
