William Saito: Man of Many Talents

William Saito was born in March of 1971, in Los Angeles California, the youngest of three children. His parents immigrated to the United States two years before he was born. Saito is best known for his ventures in cyber technology and in the business world.

During his time at the University of California, William Saito developed an I/O software that could display Japanese characters in software written in English, as well as offered a fingerprint recognition software. In 2004 this I/O software was acquired by Microsoft. This acquisition ignited his move into business and technology. After graduating from college Saito moved to Japan and became a venture capitalist, investing in several Japanese start-ups. In 2011 he was even named a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.

Between the years of 2011 and 2017 William Saito held many different positions, including being on the National Diet committee investigating the Fukushima nuclear disaster which occurred after the earthquake and tsunami devastated the area. Saito was also the top adviser to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on cyber-security issues. He held several adviser positions thought out the years, including one to the Cabinet Office and to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as well as a strategic adviser to the Japan Airlines.

As an adviser Saito focused on many aspects of a business. He gained skills in inter- governmental affairs as well as political affairs. He also strengthened his communication and interpersonal skills. In 2015 he was chosen as one of 100 Most influential People Japan y Nikkei Business. In addition, in 2016 Saito was awarded the Medal of Honor for exemplary service and contributions to the people of Japan.

His longest venture continues to be as Chief Technology Officer of Intecur. The company is a Tokyo-based consultancy which was founded to help clients in the public and private sector with generating effective IT strategies for today’s ever changing environment. His expertise includes many fields of IT such as network security, computer security, cloud computing and cyber security.

With such an exemplary background and wealth of experience William Saito will surely continue to excel in his field, in years to come.
